I have been given some very lovely sample materials for this project by Penny, my mother in law. Penny had an excellent career as an upholsterer working on classic cars. 
I’ve been tinkering with the idea of customising one of my cameras for a while now. Having recently cleared out my camera bag and sold off most of my film cameras, I finally took the plunge and started work on my Nikon FM2.
Part 1 is in the pictures below, all leatherette and glue removed.
